Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary is located in Indian Shores. This is a non-profit
organization that rescues, repairs, recuperates with the potential release of
rehabilitated sick and injured wild birds that are natives of the west coast of
Florida. Do you remember Bernie Higgins who wrote Key Largo? Well He is highly
responsible for raising the funds to initially establish the sanctuary. The

Shores is an interesting place. For a small town is has a lot of things going
on. They do things like Hands across the sand. That is a grass root effort to
demonstrate the deep concern for the health of our PLANET. There is also a
Mardi Gras Book Sale. They have a St Patrick Day Street Festival. I could go
on and on. Whatever the people can think of to get together, they do. Indian
